New for 2017, BAYS will be hosting a summer class series, entitled “Queers Teach Their Peers.” The series will consist of two, three-week summer classes taught by queer youth, for queer youth in the Oakland/Berkeley area. Classes will be held between 10:00am and 3:00pm on Mondays & Wednesdays from July 10-28, and from July 31st-August 16th.
So far, our planned courses include:
- Deconstructing Capitalism, an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the ideas behind and the workings of capitalism.
- Navigating Capitalism, a no-nonsense financial literacy class.
- Demystifiying the SAT, tips and approaches to stress less and score more.

In addition, we are currently seeking queer educators ages 25 and under on a rolling basis. All teachers will be compensated $30/hr for their time.
